Spring Garden Project for Menlo Park VA

CA15 – San Mateo County Blue Star Moms Donation to Menlo Park VA Hospital

The San Mateo County Blue Star Moms (CA15), with the help of a $250 Grant from Blue Star Mothers of America, provided the 120 veterans at the Menlo Park VA Community Living facility with supplies to plant a summer vegetable garden. While the VA Community Living facility has raised beds for available planting, it lacked the funds needed to acquire soil, fertilizer, and a variety of vegetable plants, including beans, squash, eggplant, tomatoes, peas, and cucumbers. In early April, the SMCBSM delivered these supplies and more!

In May 2022, we were able to view the garden the Veterans helped to plant. The vegetables are thriving as can be seen in the pictures below.
